[ The sum of possibilities, 2014/15 ]

Architectures of shadow emerge from the water under a diffuse light. A seeming mirage, its presence lures the observer to slowly engage with the elusive interplay of surface and depth, as if facing a transient passageway. Deceivingly simple at first glance, masked by an austere setting and tone, these anonymous structures are destined to remain nameless, mute, and purposeless, yet reveal themselves intrinsically participative in nature, silently enthralling the observer's perception.
Accepting reality as an ungraspable circumstance, the subject of observation encourages a reciprocity flow where that which we behold steadily returns the gaze, a mental disposition that makes tangible such fleeting sensations as mystery and seduction. Each construction sets out to abstract time and induce a state of reverie, unfolding possible meanings in lieu of providing concrete answers. Echoing the acute wanderings of René Magritte, "everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present."
